What is?

The Route of Soups is a hiking event with the aim of promoting sports culture and recreation combined with a people that insists on preserving its traditions, in this case, food.

Where does it take place?

Rota das Sopas is an exclusive event of the parish of Boa Ventura, promoted by the local Parish Council in partnership with Retoiça - Cultural, Sport and Recreative Association, under the seal of the Federation of Camping and Mountaineering of Portugal and with the support of the House of the People of Good Venture.

Why does it happen?

Rota das Sopas is the result of a mutual challenge launched by Retoiça - Cultural, Sports and Recreation Association and Boa Ventura Parish Council in order to promote the friendly parish of Boa Ventura twice through a hiking event that toured its corners and ancestral heritage combined with an event already established in the regional gastronomic panorama, the Feira das Sopas do Campo.

When does it take place?

The Soup Route takes place in June, always coinciding with the event Feira das Sopas do Campo in the parish of Boa Ventura - São Vicente.

How is it done?

The Sopas Route has as purpose the promotion of pedestrian sports, in general, within the space adjacent to the parish of Boa Ventura, winding its beautiful paths, levadas and green paths that used to (and still do) serve the people of this area. northern land, always culminating in the Campo de Boa Ventura Soup Fair. The route is modified every year, in order to diversify the requirement of the route, as well as the landscape perspectives, thus sharpening the curiosity of adventurers who dare to embark on this adventure.

Historic

The first activity related to the Soups Route took place on June 10, 2018 with the participation of sixty-four (64) hikers who began their walk with the Parish Council of Boa Ventura and continued their journey through Achada do Castanheiro - Caminho da Serra - Boca da Tapajinha - Boca da Lapinha - Achada Madeira - Lombo do Urzal - Boa Ventura (Royal Way nº27), ending at the XVI Soup Fair in Campo de Boa Ventura.

2022 Edition

For the year 2022 we will carry out the second edition of theSoup Route with a route of medium difficulty, with an approximate distance of 10 km. The walk starts at Beira da Quinta (Arco de São Jorge) - Ribeira Funda - Fonte da Velha - Boca das Voltas - Vereda das Voltas do Porco - Fajã Grande - Cardo - Cuada - Serrão (Boa Ventura) - Feira das Sopas do Campo.
