Synopsis

"Varejenta" is the popular Madeiran term attributed to the Viola d'Arame. This connotation comes from the fact that the “low” sound produced by the instrument resembles the sound of a blowfly when it flies.

This project to safeguard Madeiran Music and Cordophones has as its repertoire traditional and popular Madeiran themes, fado, classical and original music.

In their performance the two musicians interpret Machete, Rajão, Viola d'Arame, Viola and Voz.

It has the support of Associação Musical e Cultural Xarabanda and is a Duo composed by Lara Nunes and Roberto Moniz.
